Welcome back to school, students!
My name is Mrs. Roghair. You say it like Rugger. I have been a librarian and teacher for many years. I am happy to have a part-time job right in Creston, where I live with my husband. We have two cats, Gracie and Opal. We also have two grown children and two grandchildren. We are pleased that our grandchildren live near us so that we can spend time with them.
I really enjoy "making a good match". Let me tell you what that means. I like to match up students with books. There is a right book for every child. If I make a good match, you will read! As you grow older, you will be able to make your own good matches, so that you continue to read and grow. So, when you visit the library, it is important for you to tell me what you would like to read about. If you are wanting a fiction book, you can tell me if you would like a fantasy or realistic fiction book, for example. If you like to read non-fiction books, you can tell me what topic interests you. For example, you might say that you are wanting to read about the Civil War. Then I can direct you to those books. Sometimes, students just like to browse the book collection and may be attracted to a book by its cover and summary.
Meeting all of you will be fun. It will take me awhile to learn all of your names without looking at my seating charts. Please be patient with me. I look forward to being your librarian and helping you make a good match!
Mrs. Roghair
